It’s Day 4 of the #julyanimaleyes challenge, 30 eyes in 30 days, as part of World Watercolor Month!
Today’s painting is the eye of an owl. I had to do a lot of color testing and sample paintings before creating the real thing, but now I know what works for future paintings! The size is around 2 x 2 inches on Arches 140 lb. Cold Press paper, using Winsor & Newton progressional watercolor paints.

Stay tuned for more paintings this month, many of which will be offered as video courses in real-time at my online school!
