July is World Watercolor month and to celebrate, I’ll reveal a new painting every day in July! It might be large, it might be tiny, but you will see a finished work for each of the 31 days in July.
Here’s Day 1: Â Mini Painting in watercolor, 3.5 x 4. 5 inches
Thanks to Paul Sherman for the reference photo!
You may see works in progress on this blog, Facebook, or Instagram, but when the painting is completed, subscribers to this blog will get first view and opportunity to purchase, at a special price, followed by reveals on social media.
Here’s the history of the project:
Charlie OâShields, the creator of DoodlewashÂŽ, is the founder of World Watercolor Monthâ˘. His own love of the medium led to the creation of a blog and social artist movement dedicated to promoting and connecting the vast community of watercolor artists all over the world. After hosting a few early art challenges, celebrating various fun and delightfully obscure holidays, it became apparent that there wasnât an official celebration of the medium we all love. Over 18,000 applications are submitted for âofficial daysâ each year and only 30 are added to the calendar so it was a long shot, but the registrars agreed with the cause and now itâs official! July is now and forever World Watercolor Month!

So in between the Online School and important commissioned projects, I’ll be revealing a finished original watercolor painting every day in July.
I’m pumped – goals are what drive me, and I’m excited to get working!
I hope you enjoy this month with me!
